Current fees:

Tutoring: £35 per hour. For small groups of 2 or 3 students, I would ask £50-£60 per hour. (Please note: small-group tutoring is something I offer on an occasional basis, as most students seek individual support. But sometimes, small groups join together to prepare for a specific exam or gain discussion skills in a shared subject area. Students and parents should consider what is best for them before we agree to a group option.)

Proofreading and basic editing: fees range from £25-30 per hour. I ask for a sample page to edit (using ‘Word-Track Changes’) which I return along with a quote for the entire task. If the quote is agreed upon, the task proceeds from there.

Development editing: fees for editorial/academic advice and support for theses, articles, conference papers, books, and research proposals are negotiated on a case-by-case basis, but will normally range from £35 – £40 per hour. This is in keeping with the current rate of £39.90 for “substantial” or “development editing” recommended by the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading.
